Recognizing Domestic Abuse: You’re Okay and I’m Not

Have you ever noticed the subtle messages between and within individuals in abusive relationships.

Here’s a classic one (from the victim’s perspective):  You’re Okay and I’m Not

The net result of this thinking is the victim finds her/himself striving to prove to their partner that they are indeed okay. But unconsciously to match the batterer’s perceptions of the victim, she/he displays their “not okayness.” Sound familiar?

Healing from Emotional Abuse – Overcoming Obstacles and Obtaining Benefits of Meditation

I hear people claim they can’t meditate and so they opt for some other form of relaxation or marshal art. My hunch is they can meditate if and when they get out of their way.

Meditation is fundamentally not a doing activity, though there is a discipline of routine and mechanics involved.
