Oftentimes the signs of domestic abuse confuse us. We think of it as the obvious and fail to acknowledge the subtle, unless we are on the receiving end.
For example, I hear couples speak about the abuse in their relationships as though they are referring to two separate relationships. And the perception of each person often misses the experience of the other.

A common theme for battered mothers in divorce proceedings is that they begin thinking they are holding the winning hand when it comes to domestic violence and child custody. They typically are awarded temporary custody of their minor children and may even have protective orders in place.
Then, “out of the blue,” the tide turns and their children are pulled right from under them—handed over to the custody of their father who is, more often than not, an abuser.

There is a plethora of information on the Internet and in the media about violence against women. And for the gentleman being abused, finding relevant, accurate insight and advice is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Even harder for abused men is finding answers for the questions they have about their innocent minor children. Below are a couple of questions pertaining to the children of battered men.
